From March 26 to April 10, 2025, Saxion University of Applied Sciences welcomed researchers Petar Piljek, Matija Krznar, and Denis Kotarski from the University of Zagreb (UNIZG-FSB). Together with the SMART Research Group, represented by Prof. Abeje Mersha (lead) and Ayham Alharbat, they advanced their joint work on modular UAV platforms.
During the visit, the team assembled and modified a multirotor UAV, carried out indoor and outdoor flight tests, and evaluated the impact of different propulsion systems. These experiments provided valuable performance data and validated results from previous collaborations.
A key outcome was the preparation of a second joint scientific paper, moving the partnership closer to publication while also paving the way for continued research on UAV performance analysis.
