During an official visit to Zagreb from October 7 to 18, 2024, Tarik Pozderac attended the DroneDays 2024 conference, held on October 8-9. Following the conference, on October 10, 2024, Tarik participated in two specialized training sessions: Multi-Sensor Multi-Object Tracking Systems led by Javier Gil Avilés of FLYROS, and UWB Localization Training with Vlad Niculescu from ETH Zürich.
These sessions offered valuable insights into advanced UAV technologies. Tarik then collaborated with Jurica Goričanec and Antun Ivanović from the LARICS laboratory at FER to work on a custom-made drone from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Sarajevo. The team began by testing components and switching the drone's firmware from PX4 to Ardupilot. After reassembling the drone and resolving compatibility issues with the RC controller, they successfully armed the drone and completed its first flight on October 17, 2024.
By the end of the visit, the team had successfully tested the drone's integration with FER’s software stack and ROS for communication, and discussed next steps for bringing these advancements back to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo. This collaboration will allow further experimentation and application of UAV technologies in real-world scenarios.
