From June 4-14, 2024, AeroSTREAM members convened in Chania, Crete, Greece, during the ICUAS 2024 conference. The event focused on training and technical management, with an overview of the project's current achievements presented by partners from the University of Twente, Fly4Future, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Sarajevo.
Prof. Adnan Tahirović played a key role as associate editor of ICUAS 2024, helping select the best papers. In addition, both the ICUAS and MED 2024 conferences offered valuable workshops on UAV modeling and control, directly supporting AeroSTREAM's objectives. Presentations on cutting-edge control strategies and plenary talks by leading researchers, such as Prof. Dario Floreano and Prof. Davide Scaramuzza, highlighted the rapid advances in UAV technologies.
Discussions on the role of AI in control systems were a focal point, with panelists emphasizing the need for explainable, robust systems. Educational sessions promoted innovative platforms like FACEIT Tools, aimed at enhancing robotics education.
Overall, the event strengthened AeroSTREAM’s vision of advancing UAV research and education, while fostering new collaborations.
