The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (FTTS) at the University of Zagreb participated in the MUZZA Science Fair from May 19 to May 21, 2023, held at the Zagreb Fair. Their involvement in this science fair was a testament to their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, particularly in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
The lecture provided an excellent starting point for those eager to delve into the complexities of drone flight. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, fostering a stimulating exchange of ideas and insights. By combining practical demonstrations with informative lectures, the FTTS effectively bridged the gap between theory and practice, creating an educational experience that left a lasting impact on all participants.
A standout feature of their participation was an engaging and interactive drone display that captivated visitors of all ages. At their exhibition stand, attendees had a unique opportunity to witness drones in action from an unusual perspective. Drones were suspended in a specially designed cage above the display area, with their motors running, creating both a visual and auditory spectacle. Observers could view the drones from below, providing a fascinating insight into the mechanics and forces involved in drone flight, while also emphasizing the importance of sufficient airflow for maintaining UAV stability and flight.
This interactive demonstration was a source of excitement and fascination, particularly for young children. It not only entertained the younger attendees but also kindled their curiosity and interest in the world of drone technology and aviation. Recognizing the event's potential as a platform for imparting knowledge to older children and adults seeking a deeper understanding of drone flight mechanics, the FTTS organized a short lecture to accompany the interactive display. Knowledgeable experts from the faculty engaged with interested attendees, delivering an informative session that shed light on the principles of flight, aerodynamics, and the inner workings of drones.
