"Spring BIND - Become an engineer for a day" is the second edition of free STEM workshops for elementary school students, and will be held at FER on Saturday, May 6, 2023. No prior knowledge is required for the workshops. The workshops are held in three times: 10:00-11:30, 12:00-13:30 and 14:00-15:30.
Each workshop is divided into 4 parts depending on the class:
1. Scratch (2nd and 3rd grade) - animation programming in the Scratch programming language, and the theme is nature and animals.
2. Lego (4th and 5th grade) - programming Lego robots where children will learn how to transport precious cargo.
3. Croduino (6th - 8th grade) - an electrical engineering workshop where children will work with light-emitting diodes, resistors and buzzers, and will connect them using the Croduino board and teach the traffic light to obey traffic rules.
4. Soldering (5th - 8th grade) - putting together a pocket repetition game (Simon says).
Registration is not required for the "fun room", where children will be able to learn about different types of robots, Lego sets, VR/AR sets, a mini Tesla transformer...
Spring BIND is organized by STEMALICA, Ĺ UZA, Promocija znanosti, AeroSTREAM i FER.
